Our Story

Our story began in 1967 when Bill Houston stepped into an Orkin office and unknowingly launched a three-generation legacy in the pest control industry. From that first job as a termite helper, he rose through the ranks to manage and revitalize underperforming offices for both Orkin and Terminix. In 1979, the Houston family opened their first pest control business, setting the stage for what would become a lifelong journey.

As a teenager, Mike Houston learned the trade from the ground up—literally—working alongside technicians and gaining hands-on experience under homes and in the field. That early exposure turned into a career, and after working for another local company, Mike and his wife launched their own pest control business. Their dedication grew the company into one of the top family-owned providers in Texas, with offices across Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio.

From a young age, Brandon and his sister Jessica were deeply involved—stuffing mailers, assembling Sentricon stations, and helping technicians. At just 13, Brandon was already working service routes; by 16, he had one of his own. After selling their successful company in 2006, the family shifted into real estate, where they gained national recognition for innovation, relocation services, and web-based systems. Mike served on a national technology committee, sparking a passion for digital tools that would later become central to Pest Evolution.

Brandon went on to work as a purchasing manager for the nation’s largest homebuilder, honing skills in business strategy, operations, and efficiency. In 2014, the family returned to pest control—launching a new company with meticulous planning that quickly scaled to over $5 million in revenue and acquired 35 companies.

Throughout that journey, one truth stood out: many business owners—especially in pest control—struggle with marketing, digital tools, and strategic growth. That’s why we created Pest Evolution.
